A criminologist is a person who works in clinical, social-rehabilitative, or research criminology. Employment opportunities are in rehabilitation frameworks for offenders and victims and their treatment. For example, within the police, security forces and prison service, rehabilitation and treatment institutions, private frameworks, or academic research and teaching. The social-rehabilitative criminologist is a professional whose professional training and professional role is focused on a scientific approach to studying and analyzing the developments of deviation, the dynamics of the offender, identifying risk factors, and socio-therapeutic intervention.
