Proprietorship is a highly esteemed role and its organizational power lies in its commercial abilities and is often considered more influental than a CEO position. A proprietor's job is varied:
A. Proprietary work in factories - economic negotiation and attending logistics accompanied with the product. B. Proprietary work in nonmanufacturing organizations, mostly cutting costs and acquiring materials and product that are used daily within the organization as specificied by his managers. C. Retail proprietary work - often called category management - which is inherently different than other proprietary work, the proprietor performs acquisitions for future sales and not self-use, his decisions determine the nature of the category/organization as well as profitability, positioning and branding.
